John the Vagabond
The model for this painting actually entered my life forty some years ago, but recently re-emerged through a descendant’s query. He was a colorful soul, to say the least, and I made multiple attempts to capture him from an old black and white photo I had. He was a self-proclaimed vagabond at the time I made his acquaintance. He proudly wore the title of vagabond and often signed letters, John, John, the Vagabond. Here today, tomorrow gone. It was a real blessing to have crossed his path.
