Drawn on location, these rapidly executed drawings capture a moment with the simplest of lines. “Often when I attend an event, I will take a small drawing pad and pen or pencil and ‘doodle’ my way through. My hand moves swiftly, recording what my eye sees and my heart feels, without taking time to analyze or critique.” Sometimes Marie works with the drawings further in the studio, adding a simple watercolor wash or re-drawing, distilling them to even simpler lines.
